Created stories for OPB’s Arts & Life, including written articles, photo slideshows and videos. Collaborated with other departments on story coverage. Posted news stories and maintained the opb.org front page.

Web editor, Daily Journal of Commerce, Portland, OR — Dec. 09-Dec. 12 
Managed the website for the niche business daily, including navigating the site through the implementation of a pay wall. Interpreted Web analytics and implemented strategies to boost traffic, sometimes with spikes of more than 60 percent in a month. Awarded first place for Web projects by the Oregon Newspapers Publishers Association for the creation of a collaborative blog called the Daily Blog.

Web Producer - Economy Project, KERA, Dallas, TX — May 09-Nov.09
Maintained the website for a project that won the 2010 Regional Edward R. Murrow Award from the Radio Television Digital News Association. The web-based project provided news and resources for the Dallas area during the peak of the Great Recession.

Designed and maintained Web pages for the public relations department, and provided technical support to hospital employees. Instrumental in carrying out the hospital’s 2009 charitable campaign.

As a so-called “early adopter” in the newsroom, was the first person to use Twitter and persuade other journalists to do the same. Created the newsroom’s first interactive graphics and some of its first videos. Maintained the website that was named No. 1 in the state by the Mississippi Press Association.

Intern, International Herald Tribune, Paris, France — Jan. 06-June 06
Coordinated newsroom activities and assisted editors from the communication hub of the newsroom. Took a photograph that ran in the paper.
